Das Rebenhaus am Niederwald
Das Rebenhaus

Welcome to the Rebenhaus in Rüdesheim am Rhein!

The Rebenhaus has been part of the panorama at the Niederwald for over one hundred years. Built around 1880, when there was still a rack railway instead of a cabin lift, taking tourists to the Niederwald monument, it was originally a coffee house known for its delicious cakes. In the fifties, it then became a traditional restaurant with spectacular views.

The Rebenhaus was always famous for its unique location just under the Niederwald monument and the temple. It overlooks the beautiful Rhine valley with its rolling landscape of vineyards and charming little towns and villages left and right of the river.

Modernising a historic building

In summer 2017, three friends from Rüdesheim got together to give a new life to the building. Extensive renovation works, a redesign of the second floor, which now has three beautiful holiday apartments led to an important complete refresh of the restaurant and house.

While renovating the house over a period of several months, it was very important for us to retain the unique charm and spirit of the place. The Rebenhaus is a lovely, romantic place for you to stay. A secret hide away.

Together with our team, we would love to welcome you here, so that you can experience our slogan - "So close to heaven".

Attention please: the Rebenhaus is located in Rüdesheim am Rhein, directly under the Niederwald monument. There is a street in Assmannshausen called Niederwaldstraβe, but this is the wrong location! Unfortunately, even Google Maps does not indicate this correctly. The best orientation is the Niederwald monument. We are situated on the left side under the Pavilion (perspective form the top of the hill).

    Location

The Niederwald monument in Rüdesheim am Rhein has about 1.8 million visitors per year from all over the world. It is the most visited monument in Hessen. Situated at the gate to the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, a UNESCO world heritage site, the national monument and park (der Osteinsche Park) have been extensively renovated and modernised.

Many visitors take the cable car to the momument. Just before arriving with the cable car from Rûdesheim, you can see the Rebenhaus on your left side.

From the Niederwald monument, you can walk down to the town. There are two paths, one from the temple to the Rebenhaus, and from the Rebenhaus down to the pathways through the vineyards.

The very famous Rheinsteig is a historical hiking trail from Wiesbaden to Bonn and passes directly by the Rebenhaus. Hikers have a nice sight when coming by the buidling with its big restaurant terrace.

    Arrival and departure

Access to the Rebenhaus is difficult for low cars and is not really recommended. For normal cars it should not be a major issue. Please take the private asphalted road to the Rebenhaus, leaving on the left side of the Niederwald parking. There is signage.

Alternatively, if you don't have much luggage, you could leave your car at the monument carpark (4 € per day).

Each studio has room to park your car. You have your studio from 14h00 on your arrival day and until 11h00 on the day you leave.
